Ingredients
Scale
Steak Bites
- 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Pasta and Sauce
- 8 ounces shell pasta
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the shell pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.
- Season the steak: While the pasta cooks, sprinkle the sirloin steak pieces evenly with salt and pepper on all sides.
- Sear the steak bites: In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the steak pieces in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Sauté garlic: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
- Make Alfredo sauce: Reduce the heat to medium-low and slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
- Add cheese and seasoning: Gradually stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Add Italian seasoning and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Combine pasta and sauce: Add the cooked shell pasta to the skillet and stir to coat evenly with the Alfredo sauce.
- Add steak bites: Return the seared steak bites to the skillet, gently mixing everything together until heated through.
- Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately while hot.
Notes
- Use sirloin or any other tender steak cut for the best texture.
- Make sure not to overcrowd the pan when searing steak to ensure proper browning.
- Adjust seasoning of the Alfredo sauce to your taste, adding more Parmesan for extra richness.
- For a lighter dish, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half but the sauce will be less rich.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
